Introduction
Welcome to NotSus ("we," "our," or "us"), a safe browsing and learning platform designed for children and families in British Columbia and across Canada. NotSus is operated by NotSus Education Inc., of 2015 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada. By creating an account and using our services, you ("you," "parent," "guardian," or "child user") agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms").
If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent or guardian review and accept these Terms on your behalf.
Services Provided
Our app integrates safe, educational websites such as Khan Academy, Scratch, and TED-Ed, and other learning and creative sites. We provide:
- A safe browser wrapper with filtering to block unsafe or addictive sites.
- Tracking tools so parents can monitor their child's educational activity and projects.
- A monthly subscription, with a one-week free trial for new subscribers.
Accounts & Eligibility
- A parent or guardian creates the NotSus account and sets up a profile for each child. The parent decides which sites each child can use, and their PIN protects those settings. Children do not create their own accounts.
- You agree to provide accurate information (your name and email) when registering.
Data Collection & Privacy
We collect the following information:
- Personal Data: name, email, and login credentials
- Usage Data: browsing activity, app usage logs, and project history.
We use this data to:
- Provide core app functions (tracking projects, dashboards for parents).
- Improve safety by monitoring activity and blocking harmful content.
- Manage subscriptions and payments.
We comply with:
- BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)
- Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
NotSus is run from British Columbia. Our server and database are hosted in the United States, in Oregon, and sign-in is handled by Amazon Web Services. We will never sell personal data.

Subscriptions & Payments
- Free trial: one week, for new subscribers.
- After the trial, a subscription is $7 per month, or the same amount in your local currency. There is no yearly plan.
- Subscriptions renew each month until you cancel them.
- Where you cancel depends on where you subscribed:
- Bought inside the iPad app: your Apple Account, under Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
- Bought inside the Android app: Google Play, under your profile, Payments and subscriptions.
- Bought on notsus.net: your billing page, or write to contact@notsus.net.
- Deleting your NotSus account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google. Those belong to your store account, and only you can cancel them there.
- Apple or Google takes the payment for subscriptions bought inside the apps. Stripe takes the payment for subscriptions bought on notsus.net.
- Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own rules, not by us.
Content Filtering & Third-Party Sites
Our app blocks unsafe or non-educational sites, but no filter is 100% foolproof.
We integrate third-party educational websites. Each of these has its own Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policies. We are not responsible for their content or services.
Parents are responsible for reviewing third-party site policies before allowing children to use them.
Parents can manually add sites themselves, and maintain responsibility over this right.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not responsible for any damages, losses, or harm resulting from use of third-party websites, downtime, or technical errors.
- Our service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted access or error-free operation.

Parental Responsibilities
- Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of the app.
- Parents should regularly review their child's dashboard and activity reports.
Termination of Accounts
We may suspend or terminate accounts if:
- Terms are violated.
- Subscriptions are unpaid.
- The service is discontinued.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable Canadian federal law.
Who You Are Agreeing With
These Terms are an agreement between you, the parent or guardian holding the account, and NotSus Education Inc.
